Mapo Tofu |Painted Sustenance|

This piece is part of a recipe painting series I made for my brother, who can’t cook. The goal was to turn a recipe into something visual, approachable, and a little less intimidating.

• Front features a watercolor and ink illustration of mapo tofu with its key ingredients
• Back includes simple cooking instructions, meant to be flipped over and followed when it’s time to cook.

Each piece is wrapped in protective cellophane and finished with a belly band featuring a handwritten grocery list for the recipe.

Made with the hope that art can help someone cook their first meal. 🍲🎨
